September 10, 2011: Brandywine Roller Girls All-Stars vs. Dutchland Derby Rollers

The Brandywine Roller Girls had their inaugural away Bout this past Saturday against the Dutchland Derby Rollers. The BRG All-Star squad put up a valiant effort. The BRG All-Stars will put this experience to use in their next Bout this Saturday against the Diamond State Roller Girls.

August 20, 2011: Back 2 Skool Brawl - Brass Knuckle Betties vs. Spell Razors

I had a blast shooting my first derby bout last night. The action was exhilarating, fast and intense, with bone-crunching hits at every corner. Props to all the girls for putting on a great show and giving it their all, especially since it must have been about 100 degrees on the track. After watching them dish out nasty hits on each other, its great to see the friendship and camaraderie between the two teams. Thanks again, Brandywine Roller Girls, for welcoming me onto the track. I can't wait for the next bout.

Travel: Outer Banks - The Water

I'm fascinated by the ocean and the many moods it takes on close to the shore. This past week in North Carolina was testament to that as the conditions were calm and glassy, with 2 foot waves when we first arrived.  After a couple days, Hurricane Emily sent clean 4 to 6 foot waves from Hispañiola at a steep southern angle to the beach which made for great surfing. By the end of the week, however, the surf had become choppy, rough, disorganized, and blew in from the north. Below are some of the ocean textures I captured, ranging from powerful waves pounding the sandbars to delicate currents rippling and drifting across the intertidal zone.

- Please book a date with us by July 31^st  2011. Photo session does not need to be completed by July 31^st, just book your date by then. Dates are filling up fast, so don’t wait too long!

Family Portraits @ West Chester University

Before Amy and Nick married and had two beautiful children, they first met while attending West Chester University. 

So what better place to shoot some family photos then right on campus! 

The early morning weather was perfect, and we finished up just before it got too hot and bright.

Travel: Stratford, Connecticut

This past weekend, my wife and I traveled to Connecticut to visit with family.
While the weather didn't exactly cooperate with our plans, it did provide ideal photographic light throughout our stay. Thanks to my cousin living across the street from a marina, I was able to quickly grab these shots in between downpours. Hopefully the weather works out a little better next time, and we can actually get out on the water!
